New Technology: RebelMouse

New Technology:  RebelMouse

RebelMouse is a free software application that allows anyone to quickly and easily amplify their company’s social presence by integrating their social media on their company website.  The cost and time commitment for updating a company’s website can be eliminated with the use of RebelMouse as it instantly sends a stream of social network content from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to your corporate website.  If you would like to add an “infinite scroll” it will only require one simple line of code on your website.  Now companies can connect their audience visiting their corporate website or company blog to the content posted on their social media channels instantly.  The information can be customized to include industry news or company mentions using keywords or hashtags.  Companies can also include Tweets from their Twitter Lists.

There are a number of company’s using RebelMouse including GE.  GE is an industry leader in social media so it came as no surprise when they incorporated RebelMouse into their corporate website.  Their corporate website contains one page for Social Media where it shares fun facts about their products, scientific breakthroughs and interesting data in a text and audio-visual format as it includes blogs, Facebook posts, tweets, and QZ and You Tube videos.

New product introductions are included as well.  The new “Egg Minder” tray is currently highlighted as the first “Internet of Things” device.  The link sends you to QZ.com where a video of the product’s uses is provided in detail.  This new egg tray can be accessed from your smart phone and lets you know how many eggs you have left in the tray.  If you’re at the store, you can access the app and find out if you need to buy more.  It also has an LED display that lets you know which egg is the oldest so you know which ones to cook next.

The combination of social network sites through RebelMouse is another story about the inexpensive marketing tools available today that enable businesses, both big and small, to reduce or eliminate the marketing costs associated with television, radio and newspaper ads.  It also provides real-time marketing to update your fans/followers/members on the latest and greatest information and products available today and every day.

  1. Thanks for posting this Meg. I was wondering how companies do this. Companies need more than a couple social media sites to spread the word so having a central place would be very useful

  2. i've never heard of Rebel Mouse Meg, thanks for sharing. I like how you brought up GE's social media, I think many companies think social media is the end all be all for all their marketing and advertising needs. Or at the very least, most if not all companies (big or small) think they need to be on social media. I think GE is utilizing social media based on their brand by posting relevant articles and information. The company is showing others how to successfully use social media based on the organization's brand image. Rebel Mouse looks like a great way to further integrate a company's social media accounts.
